Responsibilities:
Assist with or take a leadership role in Engineering projects. Provide engineering
solutions to achieve Network Technologies goals using layer 2 and layer 3 technologies.
Provide technical and detailed designs for core IP/MPLS network. Provide technical and
detailed designs for implementation of customer network environments. Evaluate and select
vendor products as needed for Engineering projects, or as requested by other department
and organizations. Maintain a high level of technical knowledge and education through
training and certifications. Create and maintain technical documentation, including
operational procedures, reference materials, and research papers. Design, maintain, and

3rd Shift; Sun through Wed: 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide data communications support during network tests and actual recoveries; includes
first level problem determination and resolution. Identify and coordinate all network test
activities and objectives including pre-test, post-test and actual network test windows.
Review previous test status, profiles, network diagrams and contractual information
to identify network requirements and potential problems. Implement disaster
recovery networks according to coordinated requirements including the inter-connectivity
and configuration of all network equipment. Provide documentation in the form of network
test status, subscriber profiles, network diagrams, telecommunications billing and monthly
reports. Ability to provide training and guidance. Provide technical assistance to
during the planning and coordination of network tests.
SKILLS:
College degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience
required. Minimum of 3 years technical experience in a network environment. Technical
knowledge and experience with modems, DSUs multiplexers, bridges and routers.
Technical knowledge and experience with SW56, ISDN, and T1/Frac-T1. Knowledge of and
experience with various network protocols, such as SNA/SDLC, BISYNC, TCP/IP. Knowledge and
experience with PCs, LAN protocols and connectivity (Ethernet and Token Ring). Experience
with Sonet, Frame Relay and SMDS preferred. Experience with Windows NT, Novel IPX and ATM
